A columnist for the New York Herald Tribune once described Rolf Harris as '... that mad, mad, mad man from Down Under who went up and over with his "Tie Me Kangaroo Down, Sport!"'.

That was many years ago. That 'mad, mad' man just recently scored another hit in the British Top 10 with his wacky version of the rock classic 'Stairway to Heaven'.

In between, the energetic and talented Australian entertainer has represented Australia in 7 World's Fairs, appeared in the Opening Ceremony of the Commonwealth Games in Brisbane, Queensland; has been honoured by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II with 3 decorations, an MBE, and OBE and now a CBE; presented the first public concert at the opening of Sydney Opera House; and was awarded an AM in the Australian Honours list in 1989.
